refund and cancellation

the shizumu app is free, so most people never pay anything. payment applies only to the optional hosted sync plans listed on the pricing page. this is what to expect if you do subscribe.

cancel any time

you can cancel a hosted sync subscription whenever you like, from your account or by emailing hello@shizumu.app. when you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then stops renewing. your writing stays on your device either way.

refunds

subscriptions are billed in advance and are non-refundable for the current period or for partial periods already started. cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund the period in progress. the founding lifetime plan is a one-time purchase and is non-refundable.

we will of course honour any refund right you have under applicable consumer law, and we handle genuine billing errors (a duplicate charge, a charge after cancellation) in good faith. just email us.

how billing is handled

payments and renewals are processed by a third-party payment provider acting as the merchant of record. refunds for eligible cases are issued through that provider back to your original payment method. if you have a billing question, email hello@shizumu.app and we will help sort it out.
